Mintsoft and TalaPack
This 3PL management system case study shows how Mintsoft supports US-based 3PL - TalaPack, with their fulfilment for overseas brands wanting to break into the US market.
Who are TalaPack?
Founded in 2022, TalaPack is a US-based 3PL, specialising in helping overseas brands break into the US market by offering fulfilment services without them needing to open their own space in the USA. They also have a sister business - TalaTrans, which supports TalaPack and their client brands with international shipping, getting their products into the USA with ease.
With multiple brands across different time zones, TalaPack needed a warehouse management software that would offer transparency for their clients, while also supporting TalaPack with day-to-day order fulfilment.
The Challenge
Initially, TalaPack were running operations using a legacy system of spreadsheets to consolidate their clients orders, process for fulfilment and track warehouse activity for invoicing. With a growing client-base, this became increasingly difficult; resulting in them needing to identify a system that would work for their business model.
After a client recommended they look into Mintsoft as a WMS solution, David Pedraza, Director of Ecommerce, began the process of onboarding the system in 2024.
“We had legacy systems which were mostly spreadsheets. My background is in technology and while I have been working within e-commerce, I have worked with other solutions; but the other solutions were outdated.”
How Mintsoft has helped
TalaPack were seeking a WMS solution that would help them:
- Automate warehouse operations
- Reduce human error and operational costs
- Offering stability to grow with their clients
- Help them be competitive in the market
With Mintsoft delivering on all fronts, TalaPack were confident that it was the solution that would help them, and their clients. Particularly because, as their international clients broke into the US market, it was likely order volumes would grow from 100s to 1000s a month, and with Mintsoft, their operations would not only cope with the influx, but be automated and accurate, every time.
Seamless Courier Integrations
One of the deciding factors for TalaPack, was Mintsoft’s pre-existing integration portfolio, offering integrations to popular US carriers such as FedEx and UPS, creating a seamless experience for TalaPack’s team when processing orders and raising shipments, without having to log into carrier platforms.
Additionally, their client brands and their end customers were struggling with the lack of visibility, especially around shipping information, which caused complaints and a large amount of queries seeking tracking information. Prior to using Mintsoft, TalaPack were manually transferring tracking numbers to their clients, which then had to be manually uploaded into sales channels.
With Mintsoft, TalaPack are able to automate the entire process, by raising shipments with the correct carrier from order information that is automatically imported from their client’s sales channels. That shipment information, including tracking numbers is then automatically transferred from the carrier - through to Mintsoft - and back to the sales channel, so customer communications such as dispatch notifications and tracking information can be sent by the client.
David said “With Mintsoft, we have those native courier connections, so whenever our orders are dispatched, the system sends the tracking number to the client’s Shopify store and then they send that email to the customer; meaning customer satisfaction is improved.”
Transparency for 3PL Clients
Before utilising Mintsoft, TalaPack were tracking charges for their clients via spreadsheets, and found themselves falling behind with their invoicing.
Within Mintsoft’s 3PL settings, charges can be set per customer, and for each activity, such as shipping, packaging and handling. David shared “Now, we can run the invoice at the end of the week, or the month, we can review it and have cut 80% of the time we spend handling invoicing.”
As well as cutting time spent manually tracking costs and producing invoices, TalaPack have also seen an increase in client satisfaction from having quick, accurate and detailed invoices to examine within their client portal.
In addition to invoice visibility, TalaPack’s clients also enjoy having the transparency within the client portal to access to their order statuses, inventory levels, reports and shipping information such as tracking numbers, which has significantly reduced the amount of client queries such as; ‘where is this order?’ or ‘what is the tracking number for this order?’.
“Now, we can run the invoice at the end of the week, or the month, we can review it and have cut 80% of the time we spend handling invoicing.”
What’s next for TalaPack?
